Established in 2018, the Chinese University of Hong Kong – Xi’an Jiaotong University Joint Research Centre on Migration (香港中文大學-西安交通大學人口遷移聯合研究中心) collaborates with the Institute for Population and Development Studies hosted by the School of Public Policy and Administration at Xi’an Jiaotong University.

The joint centre mainly focuses its effort on relevant research covering an extensive range of topics including international immigration and emigration, internal migration in China, relevant social policies and economic impacts. It has been organizing research seminars, workshops, and conferences in Hong Kong and Xi’an, aiming to create a platform for migration scholars in Hong Kong, mainland China and beyond.
