The Sociology Programme is proud to announce the launch of two new admission scholarships for non-local students and a new academic scholarship, further strengthening its commitment to academic excellence and internationalization.
To attract outstanding international talent, the Sociology Programme is introducing the Admission Scheme for Sociology Talents for Non-local Students (非本地社會學菁英入學計劃). Under this scheme, four scholarships of HK$150,000 will be awarded annually to non-local students with exceptional academic achievements (two for non-local students from Mainland China, two for non-local students from regions outside Mainland China).
In addition, the Programme is launching the Admission Scholarships for High-calibre Non-local Students (非本地優秀學生入學獎學金) to attract exemplary undergraduate students from outside Hong Kong. Each year, a scholarship of HK$300,000 will be granted to a non-local student with outstanding academic results. Awardee for this scholarship will also be the recipient of one of the following prestigious awards: Scholarships for Outstanding Performance (SOP) offered by the HKSAR Government Scholarship Fund, CUHK Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarships for Excellence, or Hong Kong Jockey Club Chairman’s Scholarship.
Supported by an anonymous donor, the Sociology Programme is also introducing the Social Governance and Sustainable Development Research Award (社會治理與可持續發展研究獎學金). This annual award, valued at HK$4,000 each, will be presented to an undergraduate student who completes an outstanding graduation thesis related to these themes.
The introduction of these scholarships and awards underscores the Sociology Programme’s ongoing commitment to nurturing talented students, supporting academic achievement, and expanding its international reach. The Programme welcomes applications from students around the world and looks forward to fostering a vibrant, diverse, and intellectually stimulating academic community.
