Conference Theme: Identity Politics in a Globalized World
Identity politics, in its contemporary manifestation, largely emerged from the new social movements after the World War II (Bernstein, 2005). As young as this phrase seems to be, its sociological significance should not be underestimated and important issues remain with regard to our understanding about identity politics in an increasingly globalized world. The conference aims to encourage presentations and discussions on various aspects of identity politics in the global context. In addition, we welcome submission of papers on the following (but not limited to) research topics:
- Civil Society and Social Movements
- Class and Social Stratification
- Deviance and Crime
- Education
- Gender and Sexuality
- Health and Well-Being
- Marriage and Family
- Migration
- Religion
- Work and Employment
- Youth and The Elderly
